Welcome

The Butte Dae Myung Martial Art Academy is part of the International Dae-Myung Moo-Do Federation (IDMF). Martial Arts promote respect, humility, and patience, builds strength and flexibility, connects the mind, body, and spirit, develops self defense, and cultivates character. Students of all ages are welcome to join us in the study of Tae Kwon Do, Judo, and Hapkido.

Grandmaster Jae-Ho Park, IDMF International President

As a graduate of the Korea Yudo College (Yong-In University), Grandmaster Jae-Ho Park has been cultivating his Martial Arts journey since 1944. With a degree in Judo and Physical Education, he has taught Martial Arts for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corp, several different police academies, and school programs world wide. Grandmaster Park founded the NWTA (now referred to as the IDMF) in 1969 and currently resides in Glendale, CA where he oversees the growth of Dae Myung schools internationally.

Grandmaster Martin Martin, IDMF-USA President

Grandmaster Martin started his Martial Arts journey with Dae Myung in September 1973 under the instruction of Mr. Craig Richlen, a member of the Northwest Taekwondo Association (NWTA). Through the guidance and training of Grandmaster Park Jae-Ho, Grandmaster Martin was the head instructor at Butte Dae Myung from 1977-2007. During that time, he founded Dillon Dae Myung as well as Phillipsburg Dae Myung. He also provided training for the Butte Sheriff’s Department and at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy. Grandmaster Martin has been President of the IDMF-USA since 2010. Currently residing in Butte, MT, Grandmaster Martin “strives to enhance students’ lives both physically and mentally through Martial Arts training.”

Master Tim Russell, IDMF-Butte Head Instructor

Master Russell began his Martial Arts training in 1974 at the age of fourteen under Mr. Craig Richlen, a member of the Northwest Tae Kwon Do Association. As a young man growing through his teenage years, Martial Arts played a vital role in creating self confidence and self respect. He strives to develop these same attributes in his students- young and old. Master Russell has been affiliated with IDMF for forty years under the headship of Grandmaster Martin and Grandmaster Jae-Ho Park. He considers this a great honor.
